Repairing Cuts, Holes, and Leaks in Your Dome
    team

Keeping your Phoenix Dome in top condition sometimes requires addressing minor cuts, holes, or leaks. Here’s a step-by-step guide to repairing any damage to your dome.

    Identifying Damage

Identifying damage early is crucial for maintaining the longevity and functionality of your dome. Conduct routine inspections to check for any signs of damage, such as small cuts, holes, or leaks. Pay particular attention to areas that are more susceptible to wear and tear, including the cover near entrances and windows. Regular inspections help you catch and address minor issues before they become more significant problems, ensuring your dome remains in optimal condition.

    Using a Patch Kit

    1. Gather Your Supplies:

    • Obtain a patch kit, which includes vinyl cement glue and additional material for repairs.
    • Your first patch kit is free from Phoenix Domes—just ask!
    • You may also need scissors or an Exacto knife, a clean cloth, and a marker.

    2. Prepare the Damaged Area:

    • Clean the area around the damage with soap and water, then dry it thoroughly.
    • Use the marker to outline the damaged section if needed.

    3. Cut and Apply the Patch:

    • Cut a piece of patch material slightly larger than the damaged area.
    • Apply vinyl cement glue to both the patch and the area around the damage.
    • Press the patch firmly over the damaged area, ensuring there are no air bubbles or gaps.
    • Allow the glue to dry according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
    Maintaining the Dome Frame

Preventing moisture damage is essential to maintaining the integrity of your dome. To avoid corrosion, ensure the dome frame is not exposed to excess moisture or salty air. Regularly inspect the frame for any signs of rust or deterioration and promptly address any issues that arise.

    Upgrading Windows

Upgrading windows is a worthwhile investment for both durability and aesthetics. Clear PVC windows typically have a lifespan of 3 to 6 years, and if they become damaged or worn, they can be easily replaced. For a more robust and long-lasting solution, consider upgrading to opening Polycarbonate or glass windows, which offer increased durability and longevity.

The Glass Skylight and Panorama Window upgrade can hugely enhance your dome's appeal, view, and longevity.

By following these steps, you can effectively repair any cuts, holes, or leaks in your Phoenix Dome, ensuring it remains secure and functional. Regular maintenance and prompt repairs will help you enjoy your dome for many years, keeping it a safe and comfortable space for all your activities.
