Cleaning Your Dome

Maintaining the cleanliness of your Phoenix Dome is essential for its longevity and aesthetic appeal. Here’s a comprehensive guide to keeping your dome looking fresh and clean.

Regular Cleaning Routine
  • Pressure Washing:
    • For a more thorough cleaning, use a pressure washer to remove debris, dirt, and algae from the cover.
    • Hold the pressure washer at a safe distance to avoid damaging the material.
    • We recommend performing a good pressure wash once a year to keep your dome looking its best.
  • Deeper Cleaning with a cloth:
    • Use a sponge or soft cloth with water to gently scrub the dome's surface. Soap is usually not required.
    • Rinse thoroughly with a hose to remove all loose residue.
    • This method is ideal when a pressure washer is not available or effective.

  • Algae and Mold Removal:
    • If you notice any algae or mold growth, use a mixture of water and mild detergent specifically designed to combat these issues.
    • Scrub the affected areas gently with a sponge or soft brush.
    • Rinse thoroughly to ensure no detergent is left behind.
Special Care for Clear PVC Windows
  • Use a non-abrasive cleaner to wipe down the clear PVC windows.
  • Avoid harsh chemicals that could damage the material.
  • Regularly inspect the windows for any signs of wear or discolouration, and clean as needed to maintain clarity. If your panorama window is starting to yellow or crack, you can order a replacement - or better yet, upgrade to Glass!

By following these cleaning tips, you can ensure your Phoenix Dome remains in excellent condition, providing a beautiful and functional space for years to come. Regular maintenance not only enhances the appearance of your dome but also extends its lifespan, making it a worthwhile investment in your outdoor living experience.

Extra Tips!
  • Any cuts, holes or leaks can be easily remedied with a patch kit, available on our website, which includes vinyl cement glue and additional material. Your first patch kit comes free, just ask!

  • If your dome has a wood stove, you may notice soot streaks from your chimney that are more difficult to clean. We've found that WD-40 works best!

  • If you've ordered a Glamping Package or Custom Dome that includes our interior Oxford fabric liner, bear in mind that it's designed to be modular and easily machine washable whenever necessary in any conventional washer/dryer 2-3 pieces at a time!
